You read that right! We found our next home and we are so grateful. As frustrating as these last few months have been with our home search, I can’t describe to you the amount of joy and excitement we have for this next chapter. Introducing our new home to you is something I’ have been looking forward to. Let’s start with a little backstory.
The Backstory
We listed our first home in Hudson, WI in October and temporarily moved into my in-laws cabin until February of 2022.
We had an offer in on a house in our new area and we were expected to close late February. Unfortunately that deal fell through as we could not reach an agreement following the inspection. I had a really hard time letting this one go. I got a little too attached to my idea of what it could be and I even shared my plans with you.
Once that deal fell through I decided I wasn’t going to let myself get too attached again until we had the keys in our hands. Which was a very difficult task for me… I love dreaming up home spaces and picturing what they could be by scouring Pinterest for ideas.
After a few more deals fell through, I kept wondering what is out there for us? Not to mention the increase in interest rates… we found a home that needed a lot of work lets call it the Fixer Upper House. We (my husband and I) could see the potential. After being the only offer for a while and not coming to an agreement another offer was put in and accepted. We put in a secondary offer and hoped the first would fall through.. which it did!
The Fixer Upper House appraisal came back as expected except it was noted that there was an easement on the property with the village that needed to be addressed before our bank would finance our loan. Long story short the sellers decided they did not want to wait for the village’s decision and decided not to sell the property.
Major bummer.
Our New Home
A few days later we find this cutie that has everything we need and nothing that we don’t! The sellers were eager to sell and even asked us to see if we could move up our closing date from August 5th which we were able to! Dream come true.
The details:
- 3 bedroom
- 1.5 bath
- built in the 1940’s (still has original cabinets in kitchen!)
- refinished floors
- detached garage
- full basement
- move in ready!
I don’t have any more pictures than that but I will soon! We are so excited and can’t wait to start our next chapter here.
I can’t thank you all enough for your patience and understanding. I obviously have some dreams for this home and creative account of mine. This is just the beginning and I’m so excited to share it with you! Maybe I’ll make my design trend dreams come true!
